Spherical bearing construction:
Spherical bearings are plain bearings, the inner and outer rings of which have spherical sliding surfaces. Spherical bearings are designed to transmit radial, axial and combined loads in movable or fixed connections of machines and mechanisms.
The basic designation of spherical bearings consists of the designation of the plain bearing series, the designation of the bearing type and the value of the inner diameter in mm.
There are the following basic size series: E, 7, 2, G, C
special size series of spherical bearings: 3, 5, 6, 8, 9
and series with non-standardized (non-standard) dimensions: H
Main size series: E, 7, 2, G, C
Size series 7 is considered normal and is not indicated in the designation.
Series E is only specified if Series 7 has a spherical plain bearing of equal bore. Otherwise, the E series is not indicated.
Dimension series G may be referred to as the Russian letter r .
There are special size series of spherical bearings: 3, 5, 6, 8, 9
denoting a series of widths and diameters that differ from the basic design.
for example: 9SHM35, 6SHSL60; 9SHS480 The
Russian letter H denotes bearings with non-normalized (non-standard) dimensions.
Designations of the main types and design varieties of spherical bearings:
Spherical bearings are designed to transfer radial, axial and combined loads in movable or fixed connections of machines and mechanisms.
Movable joint :
A movable joint is a joint in which spherical bearings operate with the mutual movement of one ring relative to the other, at a relatively low sliding speed.
Fixed joint - a mounting joint, in which the spherical bearings operate with periodic single shifts of one ring relative to the other; are designed mainly to compensate for misalignment of the shaft and housing.
The designation of the design type of the spherical bearing is followed by its inner diameter in mm. It can be one, two or three digits.
for example: 9 inner diameter = 9mm, 2ShLT45Yu1T inner diameter = 45mm, ShSL130 inner diameter = 130mm.
An additional designation located to the right of the main plain bearing designation indicates special specifications.
B - one or two bronze rings;
E - one or two rings made of polymeric material;
And - the sliding surface is covered with molybdenum disulfide;
K - groove and hole for lubrication on the inner and outer rings;
K1 - groove and hole for lubrication on the outer ring;
L - one or two brass rings;
P- one or two rings made of heat-resistant steel;
T is the tempering temperature;
Y- reduced internal axial clearance;
E- the axes of the outer and inner rings are offset relative to each other (eccentric bearing);
Yu - one or two stainless steel rings;
U2 - Sliding surface - stainless steel / silver (covering the sphere of the inner ring with silver);
For spherical bearings of the constructive type of SHLT, the additional designation may also indicate the specific loads at which the strength of the coating was tested. At a specific load of 120 MPa, no special designation is applied. The signs "A" or "B" are coded for the reduced specific loads used when checking the strength of the coating of steel with organic fiber (90 MPa and 60 MPa, respectively).
Method for lubricating spherical bearings.
Spherical bearings can be divided into two groups according to the way they lubricate the working surfaces:
- Spherical bearings requiring lubrication (steel / steel sliding surface). Steel / steel plain plain bearings are designed to withstand alternating heavy, shock or static loads.
- Spherical bearings without external lubrication - self - lubricating (with sliding surface steel / fluoroplastic, steel / organic fiber). Self-lubricating spherical bearings are designed primarily to carry large loads of constant direction, at low sliding speeds. They are used in assemblies with increased requirements for durability and with difficult maintenance of supports, when the use of bearings with a sliding surface of steel / steel is impractical.
